After gaining Catherine Zeta-Jones last week, it sounded like there might be some issues keeping the previously announced cast of Jude Law, Channing Tatum and Blake Lively in Steven Soderbergh's Side Effects as the film lost part of its financing. Now Deadline has word that the film has indeed lost Lively, but has replaced her with the talented Rooney Mara who will now play a troubled and depressed woman who is taking serious amounts of prescription drugs (as a way of dealing with her husband, played by Tatum, being released from prison), which ends up leading her into a relationship with a doctor played by Law.

The Welsh actress will join Jude Law, Blake Lively and Channing Tatum in the movie which was written by Scott Z. Burns.

Jones will play a doctor called Eric Siebert in the film, which will see Gossip Girl's Lively take on the role of a depressed woman with an addiction to prescription medication who begins a relationship with her doctor (Law), while her husband (Tatum) is about to be released from prison.
